The Bennett family invites you to enjoy the unique summertime experience of picking your own fresh tree ripened peaches and nectarines at our historic family owned Bennett Orchards.

Farm History
The Bennett farm has been in family ownership since 1867. It has been farmed by five successive generations. The next generation has also expressed an interest in continuing this legacy.

The farmhouse on the property was built in the 1850's when the farm was the seat of a complex consisting of a water-powered gristmill and sawmill known as "Baltimore Mills". The mill complex dates to the 1780's.

In 1983, the first peach trees were planted on 25 acres of land. In 1987, the pick your own operation began, serving locals and visitors alike with such seasonal favorites as white peaches and nectarines. The farm has been placed in an "Agricultural Preservation District" and has been listed as one of Delaware's historic "Century Farms". Most recently, a third generation orchard has been planted this season to eventually replace the existing trees. This will ensure that Bennett Peaches will remain a local favorite for years to come.
